Monopoly Day 1
Marble Arch |
Park Lane |
In Mayfair |
There are lots of posh car showrooms around here.
Some of the Blue signs we found along our route.
And a few 'useful' images.

Butterflies are back
The butterflies are back in the Glasshouse at RHS Garden Wisley. They will be there until 28th February, so if you can get down there it is a wonderful experience to walk around in the warmth if the tropical area of the Glasshouse with these wonderful creatures flying around so close to you. If you plan on taking photos, leave an extra ten minutes or so for your camera to 'demist' before trying your hand at capturing the odd image or two.

Lumiere
Lumiere was a spectacular event held at RHS Garden Wisley from 8th December '09 to 3rd January '10. This video contains my impressions of the superb light show put on by Creatmosphere for the Garden.

Guildford in the snow
Just been for a walk down into Guilly and back over Pewley Down. Not bad although it was snowing all the time.
It was a bit sloshy in town, but at least the pavements had been gritted unlike last Feb.
The view up Pewley Hill.
Looking back down the hill
And across to the Chantries, almost obscured by the still falling snow.
People were sledging and building snowmen and igloos; and it all looked very winter wonderlandish.

Epiphany
'A cold coming we had of it,
Just the worst time of the year
For a journey, and such a journey'
In Spain they are celebrating the Festival of the Three Kings, Dia de los Reyes, with mystery plays and processions. We saw their decorations - three king dolls climbing the balcony railings not unlike Father Christmas.
