Only a few centimeters long, this horse's head is used by the Museum to advertise the exhibition. I was expecting something a bit larger, nevertheless, it is a superb piece of craftsmanship.

The Staffordshire Hoard was discovered by a metal detectorist on July 5th 2009. Over 3,500 objects were found made of gold, silver and cloisonne garnets. Most of the objects are associated with the military and war. Small, fragile objects are displayed in their perspex boxes, cradled in foam for protection.
