Paws on Parade is raising awareness for animal welfare in Louisiana. Using the iconic symbol of New Orleans' favourite holiday, Mardi Gras, the parade of dogs is around until September 2012 when they will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Society. This 'dog' was made by Alex Beard.

We did a double take on spotting this amazing painting. Surely inspiration to Sylvain Chomet for his 'triplettes' in Belleville Rendezvous.

We stopped off at the Morris Museum of Art where we found this stunning picture by Jonathan Green (b. 1955). He documents the way of life of the Gullah community of South Carolina and the Georgia Sea Islands.

Meanwhile, outside along the Riverwalk we found this sculpture. At first it looked like a character from Terry Pratchett's Night Watch, but actually, it's honouring the city's firemen.
I was sure one of the dwarves  was hiding under that helmet!

The famous Green Jacket on display. This was first awarded officially in 1949 although previous winners of the Tournament had been given it before that date. It is what members wear when they are at the Club for official events. These are meant to be returned to the Club the year after the winner receives it, but famously Seve kept both his, and was not the only one to do so!
Winners of the tournament also win a cash prize, a gold medal and since 1961, have their names engraved on the trophy, which is a  silver model of the clubhouse and it stays at the club. The winners do get a silver replica of the trophy to take home.
