The Nelson Monument on Calton Hill, Edinburgh. It has a time ball on top which is raised, then lowered at precisely 13:00.

L S Lowry stayed here when he visited Berwick

The Royal Border Bridge at Berwick on Tweed spans the Tweed and is just a few miles from the Scottish border. We spotted it from our walk along the old town walls of Berwick.

Seemingly endless beaches, but very windy with blowing sand!

Shining silver coach lamp

Gilded wheel on the gilded coach that was made to take the 3rd Duke to the coronation of Charles X of France in 1825. It was renovated to take the present Duke's daughter, Katie, to her wedding in February 2011

Mason's mark

The stone mason's were paid according to how much stone they laid, so they marked the stone where they started and then again where they finished and were paid accordingly. This is one of those marks.
